Huna principle #7
Flexibility. There are many ways to do something. There are countless ways to achieve our goals. To be stuck with one way is to place a limit on this wonderful mind of ours. We do what makes us effective.
Now, one might think that this means that the end justifies the means; but actually, it is the reverse. That is, the means are what determines our effectiveness. If we choose violence, we get violence. We cannot get peace with violence. If we choose greed and clinging to achieve wealth, we can never have lasting prosperity.
When we are trying to achieve something we often believe that the method we're using is the only one that exists. And then when we hit a wall, we are frustrated and maybe even give up on our goals. But in an infinite universe, how can there be only one way or one solution?
So don't box yourself in and don't be too fixated on any one idea. There are many roads to your destination.
